Senior Engineer – Airports

We require an experienced Engineer with a background in Software systems and standards to support our client in the field of aviation and airports. This is an opportunity to join one of the leading Aviation communications services and engineering solution providers in the UK.

The role:

Developing capability to install and configure Airport system components and providing technical assistance for other airport systems being deployed.

Providing 3rd Level, on-call engineering support for existing operational airport systems in the EMEA region so a fair amount of international travel will be involved.

Assisting with integration and certification of new airline or host applications.

Understanding and fault diagnosing local area network protocols, including TCP/IP, NetBIOS, WAN protocols (ALC/UTS);

Providing support to business development initiatives as technical advisor to sales and marketing teams.

Required Experience:

Experience with LAN/WAN implementation and troubleshooting including CISCO and Wireless; in Systems configurations, software upgrades and developments environment; Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 server, Windows NT, 2K, XP client experience.

Desired Experience:

Experience of ISO9001 environments

Software programming and man management experience an advantage as well as experience in Airport processing systems for baggage and passenger.

Database (Oracle or MS SQL) experience.
