Building Fabric Maintenance

We are looking for experienced building fabric maintenance engineers for our client, based in the London area to conduct planned and reactive works to building fabric and associated maintenance tasks.
The Role
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance as per the 52 week plan to building fabric and station buildings. This is likely to include but not limited to –
- Replacement lamping of faulty lights and Inspection of fire fighting equipment
- Planned maintenance of shutters and sliding gates
- Twice yearly clean of waste water drainage. Unblocking drains, Fixing toilets
- Vegetation control, devegetation activities
- Painting and decorating, Replacement of floor coverings, Repairs to stair treads and hand rails
- Repairs to windows, doors, damage to shelters / seats etc
- Replacement of poster boards, Perspex sheeting, Repair to waiting shelters and fencing
- Carry out additional variation install and remedial works as instructed by the FM Manager
- Produce reports on faults with detailed analysis as required.
- Ensure van stocks are adequate for the type of works being undertaken, advising the Stores Supervisor of changes required
- Assisting with electrical works as required on an ad-hoc basis.
- Supervising subcontractors as appropriate.
- Ensuring all information is updated into a handheld device at point of work.
- Reporting back on any PPM issues requiring remedial works..
- Ensuring all equipment requiring testing has valid inspection / test certificates. Any without will be returned to the stores.
- Liaising with Library and other staff to ensure that they are satisfied with the service they are getting.
- Ensuring all work is undertaken to a valid method statement and risk assessment.
General
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation and standards.
- Carry out additional ad hoc duties as required.
- Have an awareness of the environmental aspects associated with the post and a willingness to minimise any actual or potential impacts.
- The person will also be required to work on-call for out of hours work on a specified shift rota. The person will be paid additionally for this work.
Education
Hold professional status with a recognised professional body (desirable)
Experience and Knowledge
- Awareness of the requirements for building fabric maintenance etc.
Personal Skills and Qualities
- Good planning / organisation skills.
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation.
