Engineering Compliance Manager/Services Engineer

We require an experienced Services Engineer or Engineering Compliance Manager for our client, based in the London area to cover projects in the south of the UK. The role will suit somebody with an accomplished track record within the building services engineering or similar sectors who can control costs of engineering standards and manage the maintenance of supply chains, maintain schedules and audit performance of assets and site technical staff.
The Role:
- Control costs of service and engineering standards
- Manage the maintenance supply chain for mechanical, electrical and public health services and ensure availability, financial control and best value
- Recruit and manage resident technicians in support of greater self delivery
- Prepare maintenance schedules and implement verification through our Maximo service management system and hand-held readers
- Audit performance to ensure that all assets are adequately maintained and maintenance tasks completed
- Verify completion of maintenance tasks
- Verify retention of accurate maintenance records
- Prepare life cycle replacement schedules
- Develop engineering maintenance procedures
- Energy monitoring and targeting and implementing the carbon management plan
- Prepare tenders and sub-contract documentation
- Drive safety, quality and risk management in all aspects of maintenance
- Assess environmental aspects of maintenance tasks and minimising any impact on the environment.
- Vet operating and maintenance manuals and record drawings
- Prepare emergency procedures and contingency plans
- Performance evaluation of computer assisted maintenance management systems, building management systems and helpdesk systems
- Management of statutory engineering inspections
- Assist with all the maintenance aspects of bids, including estimating costs and resources, briefing design teams on FM requirements and vetting drawings
Experience and Knowledge
- Accomplished track record within building services engineering, or an equivalent technical sector
- PFI / PPP experience desirable
Personal Skills and Qualities
- Self-motivated and tenacious, able to manage their own workload and achieve results
- Good communication and presentation skills
- IT literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project desirable
- Highly mobile and able to cover live projects, mainly in the South, but to provide cover in the Midlands and North.
Education
- Engineering degree, typically BSc, BEng
