Project/Operations Manager
Project and Transitions manager with operations experience and knowledge of technical training in a military or commercial environment is required to work for a large training provider who currently provide work based learning to engineering apprentices within the Rail industry. The PM will help manage projects for a major rail customer on behalf of the Company and be responsible for time scales, quality, technical and stakeholder KPI’s and satisfaction measures. The Project Manager will work closely with the Business Improvement and Engineering Operations Manager to meet all business improvement, quality, delivery and service objectives and will work with external organizations, suppliers, and other professional bodies to help ensure successful delivery.
The Role:
Support the Engineering Operations Manager to ensure all goals are met
•Co-ordinate and manage the scheme deliverables of the training teams and of teams/individuals within the full programme scope.
•Take full accountability, monitor the plan to ensure progress is maintained in line with objectives.
•Evaluate performance against the plan on a regular basis and make recommendations for future improvements
•Produce written reports for managers/senior executive teams
•Assume line management responsibility for individuals within the project as required
•Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.
•Ensure that the Rail Scheme has continuous improvement
•Ensure that the clients are completely satisfied and all KPI’s are met
Qualifications
•Educated to HND/Degree level or equivalent
•Project management qualifications or experience
•Key Skills or equivalent Level 3 Communications
Experience
•Demonstrable knowledge of project management in an Operations environment
•Demonstrable knowledge of work-based and technical training in a commercial environment
•Good understanding of the technical training and development sector
•Good manager of people and processes
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Able to work effectively under pressure and maintain a professional approach
•Assumes responsibility and accountability
•Good organisational skills
•Strong self motivation and self analysis ability
•Able to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
•Excellent relationship management techniques
•Computer literacy
