Job Summary
Project Manager with hands on technical knowledge of Airport Operations and IT Systems is required to join the team on a project in the Middle East. Good knowledge of Airport Operations and Airport Operations Databases, requirements specification, defining tender packages for IT systems to support airport operations.
The Project Manager will evaluate tenders, make recommendations to our client and work with the successful bidder/vendor to implement their systems. They will have a clear understanding of large-scale systems development, be of strong character but pragmatic in their approach. The individual should be highly motivated and adaptable to change, be able to make decisions and drive things forward. Solid IT/Project/Operational background and ability to think beyond the current requirements and manage customer expectations effectively is required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Project Management/Airport Operations experience.
- Good practical knowledge of Airport systems and software development and vendor assessment standards.
- The specifications and procurement of computer-based systems.
- Process design or operational understanding.
- A technical understanding and practical experience of Airport Systems including: Operations Database, Resource Management Systems, FIDS (Flight Information Display Systems), Airline/Baggage Systems, Passenger Processing.
- Good practical knowledge of systems and software development methods and environments.
- Experience in performing assessments of systems and software supplier capabilities with respect to processes, products, quality and programme adherence.
- System design and development – Requirements elucidation, Specification preparation, tender preparation and evaluation, control of system and software developments, interface and acceptance testing, and hand-over.
- Familiarity with the methods and tools used to develop complex systems.
- Commercial awareness with ability to identify business opportunities.
- Good engineering degree (2:1 or above), preferably in Systems Engineering, Computing Science, Software Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
