BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, Full Time (Ref 0021)

Location Central London

Salary £45 - £50k Negotiable plus bonus, plus car allow


A Business Development Manager with experience in the Rail sector is required to carry out key management and coordination functions in bid identification, preparation and submission of prequalification and bid documents. The role will also support Business Development Directors in identifying and pursuing Business Development opportunities in the UK in the area of the Rail industry.
Responsibilities

  • To carry out research and investigation into market sectors/ projects within the region to identify opportunities.
  • To support the bid director and the business development team, subcontractors and advisers through the tendering process following pre-qualification to appointment as Preferred Bidder.
  • To contribute to and co-ordinate the bid proposal including developing expertise in specific aspects in the bid.
  • To assist the bid director in ensuring that the bid proposal is developed in accordance with the set the objectives of the team,
  • Programming and co-ordinating the activities of the whole team including presentations and initiating responses to queries as necessary, all to strict deadlines.
  • Act as day to day contact with consortium members
  • Responsible for the submission of the tender in compliance with the Client’s requirements including management of the document production resources/ team.
  • In conjunction with JLI directors identify new business opportunities.
  • To prepare and present new business reports as and when required.
  • Manage the bidding process including establishing budgets for agreement and then monitoring expenditure and reporting against budget.

Education
Degree or equivalent
Experience and Knowledge

  • Understanding of bidding process
  • Experience of excel or basic database software essential.
  • Experience of power point essential
  • Experience of carrying out research and preparing briefing reports essential
  • Experience of preparing tender documentation desirable
  • Experience of desktop publishing desirable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft outlook essential
  • Experience and knowledge of the Rail Industry
  • Desirable –knowledge of PPP and/ or construction and/or operations and/or finance
